Adult Braces FAQ

Do adults actually come into your North Miami Beach dental office to get braces?
Adults do come into our office for braces. While braces are most often associated with pre-teens and teenagers, not everyone’s parents have the ability to afford braces. The technology for braces has also advanced. There were some conditions that could not effectively be treated with braces 30 and 40 years ago, but they can be treated today. If you are one of the many adults that has crooked teeth or bite problems, do not hesitate to schedule an appointment for an evaluation.
Why would an adult want to get braces?
An adult would want to get braces to improve the look of their smile, correct crooked teeth and reduce bite problems. Straight teeth also look more professional and can make your smile appear younger.
Does your dentist offer an alternative to metal braces?
Most adults do not want to have a mouth full of metal. This is why our dentist offers Invisalign. Invisalign teeth straightening trays are clear. This means that coworkers, friends and family will not notice that you are having your teeth straightened. The trays are custom manufactured to correct your teeth gradually. During the Invisalign treatment, you are provided with a set of trays. Each tray is worn for a certain length of time before you switch to the next tray in the series. Dental visits are usually scheduled every four to six weeks, as your schedule permits.
Do I have to change my oral health routine?
If you choose Invisalign, you do not have to change your oral health routine or cut foods from your diet. The Invisalign trays can be removed for eating, drinking and brushing your teeth.
What is the cost of treatment for adult braces?
The cost of getting adult braces is dependent on which type of braces you desire and the length of your particular treatment. In general, braces cost between $3,000 and $10,000. If you have dental insurance, your policy may cover part of the costs. You can also put a down payment on your treatment or make regular payments for treatment to our dentist.
